Architect must have background in historic preservation. Architect to prepare a report to assess the conditions of lodge and Conference Monument. The project is to include the necessary repair to stabilize the lodge. Interior of the lodge is to be repaired where deterioration has occurred but no restoration. Documents are to prioritize elements to be repaired providing cost estimate for each element. The confederate Monument base is to be repaired and design modified if recommended by the A/E. Landscaping may be included. The A/E is to recommend if repairs are necessary on the internal cemetery road. Any resurfacing is to be tar and pea gravel to match entry road repaired by New Jersey to meet historic preservation standards. There is approximately 1000 sq. ft. area to the left of the entry(non burial) is sinking. The A/E is to recommend treatment which may include allowing the area to become a wetlands. The A/E is to investigate soil conditions and confer with county extension service for recommendation. Also, review and recommend solutions to security issues. The estimated construction cost is between $500,000.00 -- $1,000,000.00. The job is physically located at The National Cemetery, Finns Point, New Jersey.
