bb76n@nih.gov. The National Institute on Drug Abuse, Science Education
Program, is soliciting proposals from qualified small businesses
having the capability to develop materials for school children which
are designed to improve their knowledge of science, and stimulate a
curiosity and interest in science. The purpose of this procurement is
to develop and produce a set of materials for grades two through three,
with options for grades kindergarten through first, and grades fourth
and fifth. The materials will consist of an 8-10 minute video and
accompanying print materials for the students and their teachers and
parents. NIDA anticipates that a fourteen month incrementally funded
cost-reimbursement (completion) type contract, with options for two
additional years, will result from this procurement. RFP No.
N01DA-9-2070 will be available electronically on or about May 24, 1999,
and may be assessed through the Internet at the following address (URL:
http://www.nida.nih.gov/RFP/RFPList.html). Please note that the RFP for
this acquisition will be streamlined to include only the Work
Statement, Deliverables and Reporting Requirements, Special
Requirements and Mandatory Qualifications, Technical Evaluation
Criteria, and other necessary Proposal Preparation Instructions. All
information required for the submission of an offer will be contained
in the electronic RFP package. Following proposal submission and the
initial review process, offerors comprising the competitive range may
be requested to provide additional documentation to the Contracting
Officer. Responses to the RFP will be due on or about July 12, 1999.
Any responsible offeror may submit a proposal which will be considered
by the Government. This advertisement does not commit the Government
to award a contract. The applicable Standard Industrial Code (SIC) and
