C -- MALVERN HILL, CULTURAL LANDSCAPE REPORT AND ARCHEOLOGICAL INVENTORY SOL 1443AE400099014 POC Roselyn Sessoms (215) 597-0056 The National Park Service (NPS) is seeking an Architect/Engineering (A/E) consultant to complete an intergrated archeological inventory and cultural landscape report (CLR) for the Malvern Hill Unit of Richmond National Battlefield Park. The Malvern Hill Unit is 664.6-acres and is located approximately nine miles southeast of the City of Richmond in Henrico County, Virginia. The goal of this project is to provide the park with an overall vision as well as recommendations for the long-term management of this important cultural resource. The project includes a thorough site history, historical base maps for the primary period of significance, existing conditions base maps, a site analysis of existing conditions, and identification and evaluation of significant character-defining features, an archeological inventory and evaluation of identified resources, a preservation treatment plan, and an action plan for implementing treatment recommendations. An intergrated archeology and cultural landscape study iscentral to this project. The landscape history and landscape inventory will inform the direction of the archaeological investigation and the archaeological investigation may identify needs for additional historical research. Archeological survey findings will guide CLR treatment recommendations. The project will be accomplished in two phases. Telephone requests for the Request for Proposal (RFP) will not be accepted.
