Moore Contracting Officer, (919) 541-4392 The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, intends to award a sole source purchase order to Regional Economic Models, Inc. (REMI) pursuant to 41 U.S.C. 253 (c)(1): Only one response source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The EPA has a requirement for an updated proprietary model (the REMI model as part of the EPA's Economic Growth and Analysis System (EGAS)) created by REMI. This updated model will be used by the EPA to update the existing EGAS system with inputs for the data year 1999. The updated maintenance information will enable the Agency to continue projections of emissions estimates into 2035 based on the most up-to-date forecasting information available. The period of performance for this requirement will be one week from the effective date of this purchase order. No other source is capable of providing this support since the Model was developed and is proprietary to REMI. No request for quotation is available and this notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. All responsible sources may respond by submitting a written narrative statement to meet the requirements and itemized pricing that is sufficient to make a determination that competition is feasible. If no affirmative responses are received within 15 days of this notice to determine whether a qualified source is more advantageous to the Government, an order will be placed with Regional Economic Models Inc.
