The National Institutes of Health, Clinical Center has a requirement for specialized housekeeping services in support of it's 250 plus bed research hospital. Solicitations will be accepted from all commercial organizations. Offerors shall provide staff and support personnel, materials, equipment and facilities (not otherwise provided by the Government). Because of the various types of tertiary acute medical care provided and the number or rare diseases treated at the Clinical Center, offerors shall have passed two consecutive Joint Committee for Accreditation for Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) surveys with no deficiencies in the housekeeping department at a present client hospital of at least 250 beds. Offerors shall comply with all applicable federal and state government regulations regarding control of infectious diseases in healthcare facilities. Services required include but are not limited to the following: (1) Remove trash and clean receptacle (2) Perform high dusting (3) Wipe horizontal surfaces including bed stand and tray stand (4) Spot wipe walls (5) Dry mop floor (6) Wet mop floor (7) Clean bath including bath, shower, and restock supplies for an estimated 1,048,600 square feet of space. NIH will award a one year contract with 4 successive 12 month option periods each o/a October 1999. Performance will be accomplished at NIH, Bethesda, MD. Solicitation will be released o/a May, 1999.
