Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) contemplates awarding
a contract to maintain and refine the Prevention Research Synthesis
(PRS) project's centralized database system; carry out annual updates
and other new synthesis tasks; and translate and transfer PRS project
results to prevention service providers and policy makers, as well as
to HIV prevention researchers. The work to be completed under the
contract includes seven activity areas: 1) complete updating
acquisitions, review, and coding for a backlog of studies from
1988-1998; 2) perform updates for each subsequent year, 3) gather
missing data from original investigators, 4) collaborate in synthesis
studies, 5) develop, maintain and refine a database system, 6) develop
products for technology transfer, and 7) conduct other synthesis and
product development tasks, including rapid responses to research/policy
questions, as necessary. Only written requests for copies of the

date specified for receipt of offers will be approximately 45 days
after the RFP issue date. Requests for the RFP must specify the RFP No.
