E-MAIL: Kimberly D. Duncan, k.d.duncan@larc.nasa.gov. NASA/LaRC plans to issue a Request for Quote (RFQ) for Research on Improvements to Ozone and Water Vapor Lidar Systems. The Atmospheric Science Competency of the NASA Langley Research Center is involved in developing and fielding ozone and water vapor DIAL lidar systems on aircraft to measure these atmospheric constituents. Upcoming field missions will require that improvements be made to the existing ozone and water vapor DIAL lidar systems. This purchase order shall specifically address this need by improving the LASE water vapor DIAL system performance. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). The Government does not intend to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. See Note 26. The SIC Code and Size Standard are 8731 and 500 employees, respectively. The DPAS Rating for this procurement is DO-C9. The anticipated release date of RFQ 1-168-CA.1101 is on or about May 14, 1999, with an anticipated quote due date of on or about June 1, 1999.
