K -- RETROFIT FIRE TRUCKS SOL NDQ990018 DUE 060399 POC Pam Vega 303/236-4400; Contracting Officer Rex Thomsen 303/236-9443 The Bureau of Land Management, California State Office, has a requirement for a Contractor to remove existing hydraulic pumping system on nine Navistar 4800 4X4 fire engines, and furnish and install all components to complete a working PTO (Power Take Off) and auxiliary pumping system. The contractor is to be aware that these nine units are designed as primary wild land firefighting engines. They will be subject to extended periods of rugged, off highway use. The contractor shall be required to provide and integrate design and construction techniques that will satisfy the requirements of off highway use.
