The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) intends to procure approximately 40 different sizes and types of glued/adhesive joint Corrugated Fiberboard Boxes for use in packaging postage stamps and other securities. The BEP anticipates a fixed price requirements type contract. This procurement will be negotiated and awarded according to the procedures set forth in the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12. The period of performance will be for one 12-month base period plus four (4) twelve month option periods. The BEP's total anticipated requirement is for approximately 300,000 corrugated fiberboard boxes for the base and each option period of the contract. Offerors will be required to submit a material sample with their offer. The source selection decision will be based upon overall best value to the BEP, price and non-price factors considered. It is anticipated the solicitation will be issued before May 21, 1999. A thirty (30) day response time is planned. All firms shall include in their written request for a copy of the solicitation, its size status (i.e., Large, Small, Minority, or Women-Owned). This procurement is a 100% Small Business Setaside. The Standard Industrial Classification Code is 2653 with a corresponding size standard of 500 employees. See Numbered Note 1. All responsible small businesses may submit an offer.
