The instrumentation server is used to support MM and PK Weapon System Testing. Coordinate measuring machine. The Measuring System shall be a rigidly constructed, self-contained turn-key system. The system shall be motor driven design; with all guideway elements (i.e., base plates, crossbars and spindles) made of state-of-the-art materials. The system shall have a minimum cubic measuring envelope of about 28 inches x 40 inches x 24 inches (xyz) inches. An antivibration system shall be installed to isolate from any environmental vibrations that would decrease the capabilities and accuracies. The turn-key system shall include as a minimum the following: A probe head capable of data entry in three dimensions, one complete probe/stylus kit capable of combining into diverse cluster, calibration spheres, an air filter system capable of removing adverse precipitants, a computer capable of communicating with storage and documentations systems all necessary interfaces, and a complete software library including programs specifically designed for contouring, scanning, and geometric analysis.
