The Government intends to purchase on a firm fixed-price basis and to solicit and negotiate the proposed purchase order on a sole source basis with Wind River Systems for the part numbers listed below, under the authority of FAR Part 6.302-1. Wind River Systems development software and related development tools for the Motorola 68 K series of processors are currently being used by NAWCAD 4.5.8.2.1. However, to execute tasking in support of Interrogator System AN/UPX-29(V) ECP D&S-001, software architecture for a different Processor (Motorola PowerPC) is required since the modifications are being done around this environment. This additional architecture is an add-on to the existing Wind River Systems license and therefore is available only from Wind River Systems. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received by 26 April 1999 will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
