R -- CONFERENCE/MEETING PLANNING AND LANGUAGE INTERPRETATION/TRANSLATION SOL 99CRSS0005 POC Jane L. Conniff, Contracting Officer, (303) 236-5900 X334 The U.S. Geological Survey, EROS Data Center, Sioux Falls, SD, has a requirement for arranging and conducting/hosting scientific meetings and conferences, to include translation and interpretation of nine (9) different foreign languages. Some earth science and/or remote sensing science expertise/consultation is required for preparation of scientifically valid and accurate meeting minutes. Transportation services are required for international visitors. Services also include securing hotel accommodations and convention rooms for meetings. Typically there are six (6) to eight (8) large meetings per year with 100 to 300 participants. It is estimated that there may also be from six (6) to eight (8) smaller meetings per year with 12 to 30 participants. Meetings normally range from one to four days and are almost always required to be held in the Sioux Falls area. The requirement is for one (1) basic year and two (2) option years.
