window replacement for Buildings 1 through 7, at the David L. Carrasco
Job Corps Center, in El Paso, Texas. The work includes the removal and
replacement of approximately 100 windows and 17 aluminum doors as
shown and specified in the IFB documents. The windows and 17 aluminum
doors that are to be replaced are shown on the floor plans for the two
story building(s). Although identified as Buildings 1 through 7, the
facility is a single two story complex with the windows approximately
equally-divided between the two floors. Most of the doors replacement
work is on the first floor. Some modifications to the existing CMU
openings will be required to accomodate larger code-mandated windows.
The estimated cost range is $100,000 to $250,000. Plans and
specifications shall be available on or about April 26, 1999 from the
Architect/Engineering firm of Alvidrez Associates, Inc., 1414 North
Oregon, El Paso, Texas 79902. Contact Mr. Al Anderson at (915) 533-8200
for additional information concerning this project. Collect calls shall
not be accepted. It is emphasized that requests for Plans and
Specifications should be directed ONLY to the A/E firm listed above to
ensure proper handling of requests. Requests must be in writing. Plans
and Specifications will be made available for pick-up at the A/E's
office. Any additional shipping and/or handling charges must be
pre-paid and COD requests will not be accepted. Requests will be
answered on a first-come, first serve basis until the initial supplies
are exhausted. For requests made after the supply is exhausted, the
Contracting Officer may determine whether payment of a fee is
warranted. The fee shall not exceed the actual cost of duplication of
the IFB documents plus shipping charge (if applicable) based on the
individual request will be required in order to obtain the IFB
Documents. Pre-bid conference is scheduled for May 12, 1999, at 10:00
A.M. local time at the David L. Carrasco Job Corps Center. Bid opening
date is May 27, 1999, at 1:00 P.M. at the Architect/Engineering office
mentioned above. Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code is 1751.
