The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Tucson, AZ intends to negotiate a sole source agreement, under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation 6.302, with Organon Teknika Corporation, 100 Akzo Ave., Durham, NC 27712. This action will be a cost per test agreement using Organon Teknika's Bact-Alert MB240 system for analyzing mycobacterial cultures. The agreement is expected to be for a base year with 4 one-year options to extend. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals, which may be faxed to (520) 629-1817, within 15 days after publication of this notice. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
