necessary to perform drydocking repairs including but not limited to
the following Base Items: (1) Modify Buoy Deck, (2) Spud and Spud Well
Preservation, (3) Shaft Removal, Inspection, and Reinstallation, (4)
Renew Starboard Shaft "Air Seal" Ring, (5) Fabricate and Install New
Intermediate Shafts (Prototype ShipAlt), (6) Renew Water-Lubricated
Shaft Bearings, (7) Remove and Reinstall Propellers, (8) Remove,
Inspect, and Reinstall Steering and Flanking Rudder Assemblies, (9)
Clean and Test Grid Coolers, (10) Overhaul, Renew, and Test Valves,
(11) Preserve Ballast Tanks, (12) Tank Cleaning, Inspection, Fuel
Removal and Disposal, (13) Renew Vermiculite Coatings in Engineering
Stores/Aton Hold, (14) Preserve Barge Buoy Deck, (15) Preserve
Underwater Body, (16) Preserve Freeboard, (17) Temporary Logistics,
(18) Routine Drydocking. Optional Items include but are not limited to
the following: (1) Welding Repairs, (2) Renew Shaft Strut Barrel, (3)
Renew Rudder Lower Bearing Trunk, (4) Renew Rudder Upper Bearing
Housing and Upper Bearing Housing Support, (5) Remove and Dispose of
Additional Diesel Fuel (500 Gallons), (6) Ultrasonic Testing, (7)
Additional Temporary Logistics. Vessel's homepier is Memphis, TN. Place
of performance is restricted to the Western Rivers of the United
States. The "Western Rivers" means the navigable portions of the
Mississippi River and its tributaries above mile 0 of the Lower
Mississippi River. Navigable tributaries of the Mississippi River
include only the waterways within the areas of jurisdiction of Coast
Guard Aids to Navigation Facilities as described in Light List Volume
V (COMDTINST M16502.5), and the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway to the
mouth of the Mobile River. This includes protection portions of the
Intra Coastal Waterway connected to the "Western Rivers", but
specifically excludes unprotected or open waters such as Mobile Bay,
Lake Borne, or the Gulf of Mexico. Vessel's availability schedule is 29
October 1999 for 47 calendar days. Vessel is a 75 Foot "F" Class River
Tender and 130 Foot Barge. All referenced documents are available for
viewing at 300 East Main Street, Suite 500, Norfolk, VA. A charge of
$100.00 is required in the form of a certified check or money order
made payable to the U.S. Coast Guard for requested drawings. All
businesses, large and small, are encouraged to submit bids for the
subject requirements. Plans and specifications will be issued on or
after 19 April 1999. All responsible sources may submit a bid which
shall be considered by the United States Coast Guard. ATTENTION:

The Department of Transportation (DOT) Short-Term Lending Program
(STLP) offers working capital financing in the form of lines of credit
to finance accounts receivable for transportation related contracts.
