D -- UPGRADE AND CONTINUED MAINTENANCE OF SIRIUS SOFTWARE SOL JOJMD-99-0031 POC Linda Payne (202) 307-1957 70 -- The Department of Justice (DOJ) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Sirius Software, Incorporated, 875 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge, Massachusetts 02139, for continuing maintenance and upgrades for existing proprietary software currently installed for use on an IBM 9672 R46 located at the Justice Data Center in Rockville, Maryland. The software products include Fast/Unload, Fast/Reload, SirTune, Fast/Backup, SirMon, SirAud, SirScan, SirFile, SirPro, Sir2000 ULT, and Sir2000 FMF. Sixty (60) months of maintenance is required for the software products. The required software maintenance support shall include, but is not limited to, providing new releases, updates, documentation and corrections to the software. Any additional functions to the software should be provided as they become available in order to ensure continued reliability and functionality. In addition there should be provision for the upgrade of the software products in the event of an operating system or processor change. The statutory authority is 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1), only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Interested parties will have fifteen (15) days from the publication date of this synopsis to submit their qualifications/capabilities, (i.e., technical specifications, brochures, and price lists), in the critical areas mentioned above. Responses received without the requested information may be considered nonresponsive to this synopsis. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this synopsis. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon written responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The anticipated period of performance under any resultant contract will be one (1) year with four (4) one-year options to extend the terms of the contract.
