COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF MARCH 30,1999 PSA#2313INTELLIGENCE COMMUNITY DESKTOP COLLABORATION CONFERENCE If last year's
JIVA/Desktop Collaboration Conference was a valuable experience for
you, then you won't want to miss this year's event: The Intelligence
Community is pleased to announce the 4th Annual Desktop Collaboration
Conference and Technology Exposition: "Collaboration: Make it Real" to
be held from May 11- 14, 1999 at the Founder's Inn and Conference
Center in Virginia Beach, VA. This conference will advance
collaboration among the Intelligence Community agencies by providing a
forum to share experiences, learn new methods, see and use new
collaboration tools, and address practical implementation issues. The
focus of this year's conference is making collaboration a reality.
We'll hear from speakers not only from within the Intelligence
Community, but also from private industry. Among this year's speakers
are: Mr. John Dahms, Intelligence Community CIO Ms. Jessica Lipnack,
Collaboration Pioneer, noted author and CEO for NetAge, Inc. Ms. Kathy
Harris, a leading expert in Knowledge Management, Gartner Group Mr.
John Gannon, ADCI/A&P Mr. David Coleman, a top consultant in Groupware,
Collaboration and Knowledge Webs, and Managing Director of
Collaborative Strategies, Inc. Our speakers will provide us with
information gained from their personal experience and from their study
of industry knowledge and innovation. Two of the speakers will
facilitate panel discussions, providing the opportunity for more
focused interaction with conference attendees. Additionally, to provide
you with practical application to the speakers' content, there will be
vendors on hand to provide collaboration tools, tutorials, and
workshops with hands-on experience. One of the highlights of this
year's conference will be a Knowledge Management Interoperability
Center or "KMIC" live demonstration. The KMIC will feature
cutting-edge, state-of-the-art electronic conferencing and
collaboration (ECC) technologies in support of data, audio, video,
security, and knowledge management. As best a non-secure facility will
accommodate, the KMIC will simulate live intelligent environments
where these new ECC technologies can be used to enable the real-time
interactive communication of knowledge information. The KMIC
demonstration will run concurrently with conference panel sessions and
during exposition hours. You won't want to miss this demonstration!
This conference will provide you with the current trends around
collaboration and practical ways to actually make it happen. So mark
