surfacing, drainage, rockery retaining wall, and MSE retaining wall
(contractor design) at 15 intermittent flood damaged repair sites.
Project includes: construction survey & staking; contractor sampling &
testing; construction schedules; clearing & grubbing; seeding &
mulching; temporary traffic control; 700 meter silt fence; 6,200 cu
meter roadway excavation; 170 cu meter embankment construction; 2 ea
riprap headwall for pipe arch 1,800mm X 1,200mm; 3,500 cu meter keyed
& placed riprap Class 5; 1 ea energy dissipater; 700 sq meter MSE
walls, contractor design, 3 sites; 800 sq meter rockery retaining wall
3 sites; 1,800 metric ton minor crushed aggregate; 1,000 metric ton
minor hot asphalt concrete; 90 meter 600mm CMP pipe culvert; 15 meter
1,800 X 120mm pipe arch; 70 meter 150mm steel pipe horizontal drain;
250 meter system G-4, Type IV, Class A guardrail (wood posts); 12 ea
terminal section Type ET-2000; 160 hr flaggers; 450 cu meter pumped
group; 350 meter rock dowels; and other smaller items of work. Project
is located approximately 16 kilometers East of Port Orford, Oregon.
Work shall be completed by 10-31-99. Estimated price range is between
$1,000,000 and $2,500,000. Presolicitation Notices are being provided
to firms on this agency's mailing list concurrently with the
publication of this synopsis. The following applies only to Minority,
Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs): The
Department of Transportation (DOT), offers working capital financing
and bonding assistance for transportation related contracts. DOT's
Bonding Assistance Program (BAP) offers bid, performance and payment
bonds on contracts up to $1,000,000. DOT's Short-Term Lending Program
(STLP) offers lines of credit to finance accounts receivable. Maximum
