COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF MARCH 25,1999 PSA#2310ADDITIONAL AIR VENDOR MEETING FOR ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNOLOGY
VERIFICATION'S ADVANCED MONITORING SYSTEMS PILOT The National Exposure
Research Laboratory (NERL), Office of Research and Development (ORD),
U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA), Research Triangle Park
(RTP), North Carolina 27711, and Battelle, Columbus, Ohio, are partners
in an Environmental Technology Verification (ETV) pilot for Advanced
Monitoring Systems (AMS). The goal of ETV is to verify the performance
characteristics of commercially ready environmental technologies so
potential purchasers and permitters are provided with an independent
and credible assessment of the technology they are buying or
permitting. The AMS pilot is focused on verifying air, water, and soil
monitoring technologies. The AMS pilot's next vendor meeting will be
held at Battelle's facilities in Columbus, Ohio, March 30, 1999, for
vendors with optical open-path monitors. The purpose of the vendor
meetings is to give technology vendors the opportunity to suggest
parameters for verification testing of their monitoring devices and to
plan test schedules. Vendors with optical open-path monitors are
invited to join this meeting. For more information about the AMS pilot
and vendor opportunities for technology verification or to register
for this vendor meeting, contact Helen Latham at Battelle, 505 King
