Weissman, Purchasing Agent, (301) 504-7133/ Fax (301) 504-5009 DESC: Furnish labor, materials, equipment, transportation, tools and supervision to replace the existing steam condensate piping, valves, fittings and insulation with new. In Bldg. 200, Barc-East. The facility under this contract may contain asbestos material throughout the building. The contracted work shall include the following: DEMOLITION: contractor shall remove and dispose of, off, of Government property, the existing steam condensate lines indicated on the contact drawings. NEW WORK: Contractor shall furnish and install new piping to match the type and size removed, contractor shall replace all valves, fittings and steam traps as indicated to return the heating system to full operation. SCHEDULING: Work on site shall be accomplished in five phases with each phase being completed by the contractor before beginning work on the next phase. GUARANTY AND WARRANTY: All contracted work shall be warrantied for a period of one (1) year from the date of the acceptance for beneficial occupancy or for finalacceptance whichever is earlier, against defective materials, design and workmanship. Upon receipt of notice from the Government of failure of part or parts of the replaced promptly with new part(s) by and at the expense of the contractor. The contractor shall respond to all warranty calls within 24 hours. In accordance with Statement of Work, Special Conditions, Specifications and Wage Determinations. COMPLETION: 75 calendar days from receipt of Notice to proceed. (30 days for submittal processing, 40 days for work on site, 5 days for punch list items) Standard classification Sic Code 1711. This requirement is being procured under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures using Best Value Magnitude of project is between $25,000.00 and $100,000.00. Only one site visit will be conducted April 19, 1999, meeting at Building 200 Barc-East at 9:30 a.m. This procurement is set-aside for Emerging Small Business (ESB) $3.5 annually for the last three years. A firm-fixed price purchase order will be awarded to the responsible offeror who submits the quotation considered most advantageous to the Government based on best value, considering price and factors.
