Provide all labor, material and equipment necessary to convert 2nd deck
storeroom to berthing area using Government furnished drawings as
reference. Extend existing lighting and ventilation systems. Install
2nd means of escape. Install GFM bunks and lockers. Tile the deck.
Furnish and install 2 davit assemblies and 2 rigid inflatable boats
(RIBS) on 02 level. Work location will be aboard the vessel located at
its mooring at the California Maritime Academy, Vallejo, CA. Any
interested firm may attend a ship check on April 6, 1999, 11:00 a.m.

solicitation will be issued after development of the specifications.

funds.The Maritime Administration requires that to be eligible for
award under this solicitation offerors must be holders o the MARAD
Master Lump Sum Repair Agreement (MLSRA)or shall apply for and agree to
the terms and conditions of the MLSRA. Offerors may accept the MLSRA
with their bid. Non-holders shall provide all annual representations
and certifications as required by the MLSRA. NOTE: For Minority,
Women-owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises, the Department of
Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business
utilization (OSDBU) has a program to assist minority, women-owned and
disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working
capital assistance for transportation-related contracts. Loans are
available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime
interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum
