D -- PROGRAMMING SERVICES IN ORACLE, C, C++, PL/SQL, CGI, AND EARTHWORM ARCHITECTURE SOL 99CRQQ0134 DUE 033199 POC Marilyn Hutchison, Purchasing Agent, 303-236-5900, X327, FAX 303-236-2710 E-MAIL: USGS, Central Region, Office of Acquisition and Federal, mhutchi@usgs.gov. The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) has a requirement for enhancement of the USGS rapid earthquake notification system through the integration of the existing Earthworm real-time processing system with the ORACLE Database Management System (DBMS). In Phase I, feasibility evaluated various DBMS products, chose the ORACLE DBMS, and executed performance measurements. In Phase II, a functioning prototype real-time DBMS system was completed. In order to implement the Phase III DBMS, the following tasks are required: 1) Design and implement Application Program Interface (API) for the four Phase III schema and Oracle initialization and shutdown; 2) Develop Infrastructure Support Software to allow for insertion of Infrastructure data; and 3) Design and implement an Earthworm module to run a strong motion and analysis programs trigger on selected real-time data streams within the Earthworm system. The work requires an in-depth knowledge of and experience with ORACLE, C, C++ and PL/SQL and CGI programming, and theEarthworm architecture. Performance period is for eight (8) months from 5/1/99 through 12/31/99.
