17. DESCRIPTION: POTENTIAL SOURCES SOUGHT -- The Bureau of Reclamation
is seeking potential sources for determining a source and cause of the
Hydrogen Sulfide buildup in the hypolimnion and provide the necessary
information to design potential monitoring, remediation, or prevention
programs. The objectives of this program are as follows: Determine
whether the source of the H2S is from microbial reduction of S04 or a
geothermal spring. If it is the result of microbial processes,
determine the environmental variables related to the buildup of the
H2S. If it is a geothermal spring, determine either the general or
specific location of the spring. Determine the extent the H2S being
transported downstream of the dam. Potential sources with the
capability of furnishing this information with the above
characteristics are encouraged to submit substantiation to the Bureau
of Reclamation, in writing, either by mail, fax, or transmittal to the
e-mail address listed below no later than 3/23/99. Responses should
include brochures or other illustrative material in sufficient detail
to demonstrate the respondent's ability to meet the requirements stated
above, and should include the firm's Dun and Bradstreet number (DUNS)
and Tax Identification Number (TIN.) Firms should identify themselves
as either small business, or other than small business, in accordance
with the size standard for Standard Industrial Classification (SIC)

be used to determine which preference program will be used to process
the acquisition (e.g., 8(a) set-aside under the Small Business
Administration's 8(a) program, total small business set-aside, full and
