Directorate of Contracting, B-1B System Program Office, intends to issue RFP No. F33657-99-R-2011 for Interim Contractor Support (ICS) for support of eight line replaceable units (LRUs) to bridge the transition between the initial period of operation and depot support. The LRUs are: (1) Armament Control Box MAU-208/A (CWIU), PN 400-17165-112, (2) Communications Interface Unit, PN 822-0911-001, (3) Control Display Unit (CDU-900), PN 822-0941-001, (4) Flight Director Panel, PN L5308056-001, (5) Flight Instrument Panel Assembly, PN L5308066-001, (6) Flight Instrument Panel Assembly PN L5308066-011, (7) AN/ARC-210 Control Display Panel, PN 622-8761-003, and (8) AN/ARC-210 Receiver/Transmitter, PN 822-0878-001. The Air Force is anticipating awarding a Time and Materials contract to Boeing North American (BNA), Long Beach, CA using the authority of FAR 6.302-1(a)2(ii), "Only one responsible source and no other supplies or service will satisfy agency requirements." Inquiries concerning sub-contracting opportunities should be addressed to BNA. Mr. Stephen J. Plaisted has been appointed Ombudsman for this acquisition. The purpose of the Ombudsman is to communicate contractor concerns, issues, disagreements, and recommendations to the appropriate government personnel.
