It is a two pole, three phase, "Y" connected per- manent magnet alternator. It is mounted in the D sump and driven directly by the low pressure turbine rotor. The output fre- quency varies from 0 to about 60 cps (cycles per second). The output is connected to a cockpit mounted speed indicator that senses fan speed as a function of generator output frequency.
