White, Contract Specialist, 410-278-2998/Fax:410-278-2980 The Research, Development & Acquisition Office, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland, is seeking to identify potential sources who have the capability to manufacture a portable ultra-sound device for use in a field medical environment. Principle requirements and system characteristics shall include: AC/DC powered; not to exceed 50 pounds (one person portability); size: not to exceed 1 cubic foot; multi probes or tunable probe in the 3-7 MHz range; color flow; M-mode Doppler accessed through headphones; able top perform studies in a high noise/vibration environment. This notice is not to be considered a solicitation; no solication exists; however, all responses received by the government by the response deadline will be reviewed to determine what firms have the capability to manufacture equipment that meets or exceeds the foregoing requirement.
