This is a combined synopsis/ solicitation for commercial items prepared in FAR subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in the notice. This announcement is the only solicitation. Proposals are being requested and written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation NIDA-99-DD001 herein as a request for quotation (RFQ). The solicitation document, provisions and clauses contained herein are those in effect through FAC 90-46. The proposed solicitation contained herein is restricted to small business concerns. Delivery of the procured equipment shall be FOB Destination, NATIONAL INSTITUTE ON DRUG ABUSE, 5500 NATHAN SHOCK DRIVE, BLDG. C RM 130, BALTIMORE MD 21224. The government anticipates to award a firm fixed-price contract. The Plexon Multi channel recording system is required for the successful conduction of ensemble recording studies in the brain of rats, mice or monkeys drug self-administration model. This system includes specialized techniques which will allow large numbers of neurons to be recorded. No other recording system is fast or efficient enough for the completion of our studies. The order will procure The 32 Channel Multichannel Acquisition Processor System: 1) PBX/32 preamplifier box, 32 channel 2) MAP/32 Standard Configuration 32 Channel Map Harddrive System 3) DI Digital Event Input Adaptor 4)SHP Crating and Shipping Charges. The following factors will be considered to evaluate offers: 1) PRICE 2) TECHNICAL CAPABILITY OF ITEM OFFERED TO MEET THE GOVERNMENT'S REQUIREMENTS. 3) PAST PERFORMANCE.
