The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Marine Fisheries Service, Northeast Fisheries Science Center, is issuing notice of intent to negotiate a sole source contract with Vemco, Ltd., to provide Ultrasonic telemetry equipment with monitoring capabilities. Three (3) VR20MON-PVC Monitoring Ultrasonic Receivers with VH65-Flange Hydrophones, and 130 V-8-SC-1L Miniature Ultrasonic Pingers for tracking Atlantic Salmon smolts are required. Northeast Fisheries Science Center has used Vemco's VR-20 and VR-60 monitoring receivers and data reduction software since 1996. Additional units must be 100% compatible with the existing equipment. VR-20 and VR-60 monitoring receivers and data reduction software currently supplied by Vemco Ltd, are innovative, unique, and not available from other sources. The statutory authority for other than full and open competition is 41 USC 253(c)(1), Only One Responsible Source. Interested parties may identify their interest and must provide evidence of their capability to respond to the requirement. Any party interested in receiving a copy of the solicitation shall provide written notice to the Contracting Office. The solicitation document will be issued on or about March 18, 1999.
