Defense Supply Service-Washington on behalf of the Office of the Under Secretary for Defense(OUSD)Policy(P)intends to acquire on non-competitive basis 1 Viewcast Video Codec System which will be used to support the Operations Control Center (OCC) within Policy. This system will serve as the video codex component of the Policy Video Streaming Project. The component digitizes, compresses and encodes live video feeds which can be streamed out over the Policy LAN to the end-user's PC. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) Part 13. DSS-W intends to acquire this item from Multmedia Access Corporation, 600 Airport Blvd., Suite 900, Morrisville, NC 27560. Multmedia Access Corporation is the only known vendor that offers the Viewcast system. It is the only product available that provides live hardware based encoding of multiple video streams. This capability will allow OUSD(P) to consolidate the entire coding operation for five video feeds into one compact, easy to manage unit. The Standard Industrial Code (SIC) is 3663, size 750 will be used for this requirement. This is Not a Small Business Set Aside. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this requirement within 15 days. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct future competitive procurement.
