AN AMENDMENT TO COMBINED SYNOPSIS/SOLICITATION #99PLR003 WHICH
ORIGINALLY APPEARED IN THE CBD ON 2/19/99. THE RESPONSE DATE IS
EXTENDED FROM MARCH 15, 1999 TO MARCH 22, 1999. THE INDICATED
SPECIFICATIONS ARE AMENDED AS FOLLOWS: SPECIFICATION #3 -- DELETE THE
SECOND SENTENCE AND INSERT THE FOLLOWING: The ideal system will have a
stable output of 70 kV in adjustable increments to increase
sensitivity to the elements around cadmium. SPECIFICATION #5 -- DELETE
THE SPECIFICATION AND INSERT THE FOLLOWING: The ideal system will have
an x-ray tube with a minimum life of 7 years. Vendors must specify the
life expectancy of the tube in their response and are encouraged to
include appropriate product literature, if available. Special
consideration will be given to those vendors offering instruments that
include an x-ray tube with a life expectancy beyond 7 years.
SPECIFICATION #13 -- INSERT THE FOLLOWING AFTER THE FIRST SENTENCE: The
ideal instrument will be able to accommodate at least twice that amount
in order to maximize the amount of samples analyzed during a given work
