navigation lock approach walls at Ohio River mile 964.5, near Olmsted,
Illinois. Construction includes four floating post-tensioned concrete
walls assembled from individual pontoons cast in graving dock,
drydock, lock chamber or other facility furnished by contractor.
Construction location is contractor's option. Floating walls have
isolated compartments, waterproof hatches, lighting, power circuits,
and CCTV. Power transferred via motorized cable reels.
Stainless/galvanized steel appurtanances, including ladders, platforms,
handrailing, brackets, etc. Walls have concrete parapet walls and
rubber fenders. Pontoons floated out of construction facility,
transported to Olmsted site, and integrated into full-length walls.
Construction includes pontoon test section and one fixed precast
concrete wall founded on drilled shafts. Fixed wall installed at
Olmsted site with no cofferdam provided. Construction includes four
precast concrete pylons founded on drilled shafts. Construction
includes four nose piers each founded on three drilled shafts. Shafts
support steel and concrete elements, handrails, platforms, navigation
lights and CCTV. After completion of all nose piers, pylons and pontoon
integration, the floating walls will be installed at the site. Some
maintenance of existing Olmsted construction site required. This is a
request for proposals and offers will be evaluated on the following
basis, listed in descending order of importance: (1) Past Performance
Information; (2) Price Proposal; (3) Administration/Management
Information; (4) Proposed Schedule and Sequence of Work; (5)
Performance Capability Information and (6) Socio Economical Goals
(Subcontracting Plan). This project is available on Compact Disk (CD)
only. Project files are Portable Document Format (PDF) files and can be
viewed, navigated, or printed using Adobe Acrobat Reader (available on
CD). System requirements are: 386- or 486-based personal computer (486
recommended), Microsoft Windows 3.1 or greater, 4 MB application RAM,
4 MB hard disk space, and compact disk drive. Request for solicitation
