E-MAIL: Submit responses by e-mail, crotheim@lc.usbr.gov. The Bureau of Reclamation has a requirement to refurbish three existing static excitation systems (analog exciters). The Government will remove the existing exciters and ship them to the offeror's plant so the offeror can disassemble, refurbish, test and reuse the following items: a) copper buswork; b) heatsink assemblies and thyristors; c) field flash and discharge resistors; d) unit circuit breaker; e) power potential transformers (PPT); and f) PPT fused disconnect. In the event these items are not salvageable, the contractor shall furnish and install new items. The offeror shall supply a minimum 1 year warranty for each item that is refurbished, reused or new. It is the contractor's responsibility to utilize and connect to the existing buswork, cables and conduit. The contractor will deliver the exciters to Headgate Rock Dam for installation by Government forces. The contractor shall provide an erecting engineer during Government-installation work and commissioning/testing. The erecting engineer shall perform all preliminary excitation tests after installation and prior to commissioning/testing. The location of this project is at Headgate Rock Powerplant which is located 1 mile north of the town of Parker, Arizona. The Government contemplates a firm-fixed price contract type. The estimated issuance date of the solicitation is April 5, 1999. The estimated date for receipt of bids is May 5, 1999. For this acquisition the standard industrial classification code is 3621 and the small business size standard is 1,000 employees. This project was initially advertised as a Request for Proposals (RFP), but is now a sealed bid acquisition (IFB).
