F -- WEED SPRAYING ON THE TONASKET RANGER DISTRICT SOL R6-8-99-Q10 POC Rita M. Robson, Procurement Assistant, 509-826-3392 Okanogan National Forest requires heribicide and pesticide spraying to treat noxious weeds on the Tonakset Ranger District, east and west of the Okanogan River, on various units as identified by detailed maps. General area is north of Omak, Washington in north central Washington. Contractor shall supply all materials, equipment transportation and labor. Applications or performance period is from June 1st with all work, reports and submittals completed by September 30, 1999. Types of herbicides are Picloram (Tordon) and Glyphosate (Rodeo). Types of weeds to be sprayed are knapweed, thistle, cress, daisy, houndstongue, scotch broom, tansy ragwort, toadflax, and hawkweeds. Special consideration should be noted in calculating acreage unit prices as only weeds specified shall be sprayed. It is likely work will be accomplished using calibrated backpack, all terrain vehicle and truck spray. Contractors are stronly advised to visit the sites to determine estimated weed counts per acre. All weed control measures shall comply with provisions set forth in the Decision Notice for the Okanogan National Forest Integrated Weed Management Environmental Assessment, 1997 (Weed EA), all herbicide labels,and applicable Laws and Regulations of the State of Washington, Contractor is required to have a Washington State herbicide applicators license and any corresponding bonding. Adherence to the Mitigation Strategies concerning kinds of chemicals, rates of application, buffer strips, and mitigating measures set forth in the Weed EA and implemented through the Tonasket Ranger District Noxious Weed Control Herbicide Application Plan are very important and copies will be made available either at the Tonasket Ranger District on request.
