Gentry, Phone (301)757-5897 17. The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR)
and PMA-263 will hold an Industry Day at the Naval Air Station,
Patuxent River, MD for the purpose of allowing an exchange of
information between NAVAIR/PMA-263 and potential offerors for the
Vertical Take Off and Landing Tactical Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (VTUAV)
competitive acquisition. The VTUAV Industry Day will be held on 19
March 1999 from 0800 to 1700. The site for the VTUAV Industry Day is
Building 2189 (Frank Knox School) which is located one block south of
Gate 2 of NAS Patuxent River on the left side of Maryland Route 235.
NAVAIR has established a WEB Site at http://UAV.NAVAIR.NAVY.MIL/ for
the purpose of transmitting information to potential offerors on the
VTUAV competitive acquisition. This WEB Site is JAVA enhanced and must
be viewed with Navigator or Internet Explorer 3.0 or later. The
approved Operational Requirements Document (ORD) and a draft version of
the Concept of Operations (CONOPS) are currently available on this WEB
Site. Draft versionsof the following VTUAV documents will be posted on
this WEB Site no later than 12 March 1999: Statement of Objectives,
Performance Specification, and Logistics Specification. With the
exception of the ORD, potential offerors are cautioned that the
aforementioned documents are all draft versions that are subject to
change. NAVAIR solicits comments from potential offerors concerning
these documents. These comments may be e-mailed to Mr. Dan Gentry at
gentrywd@navair.navy.mil who will forward the comments to the
appropriate personnel in PMA-263. These comments and any PMA-263
responses will be presented (without identification of the submitting
firm) to all potential offerors for discussion during the VTUAV
Industry Day. This notification is not a synopsis for the VTUAV
competition. The formal synopsis for the VTUAV competition will be
issued in the later half of the third quarter of FY 99. Questions by
