Naval Warfare Systems Center, San Diego, is soliciting sources sought
for Marine Mammal Training and Support Services. The scope of this
effort is to provide personnel who have expertise in marine mammal
care, training, observational, experimental and ecological research,
technical support, CAD experience, marine repair and boat shop
operation, dive services and Marine Mammal enclosure janitorial and
maintenance service. It is the intent to award multiple contracts to
offerors who can provide all or part of the services listed herein
using a Time and Material Contract and /or Fixed Price contracts. The
Government is considering the award of three or four contracts under
one solicitation or the same number of awards using several
solicitations. Estimated dollar amount: $20.0M/five years for all
services in total. The Marine Mammal Training and Support Services
contract provides for the preparing of all foods, feeding of animals,
administering of medication and vitamins, veterinary support, medical
records maintenance, training, and provides specialists in marine
mammal research and behavior. Additionally there are technical and
engineering support services performed in support of the training and
training devices. The maintenance of boats and support equipment is
another area we are interested in. Custodial services to provide
pier/catwalk cleanup, fish preparation and fish house cleanup are other
areas of interest. All of the foregoing are parts of the existing
Marine Mammal Training and Support Services Contract. It is the intent
of this survey to determine the viability of issuing several contracts
for various parts of the program vice one contract for the entire
program. Interested parties shall submit a capability statement related
to the above requirements in a format not to exceed 10 pages prior to
15 Mar 99. This information shall be submitted to Space and Naval

preferred method of submission is via E mail, as an attachment, to
smithjr@spawar.navy.mil. Proprietary information submitted in response
to the synopsis will be protected when clearly identified as such.
