COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF MARCH 2,1999 PSA#2293SP -- LEWIS RESEARCH CENTER NAME CHANGE Effective March 1, 1999, the
facilities of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA)
in the State of Ohio, formerly known as the Lewis Research Center
(LeRC), are redesignated as the John H. Glenn Research Center at Lewis
Field (GRC). This name recognizes the contributions of two outstanding
men, Senator/Astronaut John Glenn and Mr. George Lewis, former Director
of Aeronautical Research for the National Advisory Committee for
Aeronautics (NACA). This change, directed by Public Law 105-276 Section
434, does not affect the mission or legal obligations of the Center.
