S -- TRASH AND CO-MINGLED WASTE REMOVAL SOL IFB-646-4-99 DUE 032599 POC POC Cheryl Thornton, Contracting Officer, 412-365-5457 Invitation for Bid (IFB) for trash removal for the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System which consists of three Medical Center sites. Contractor to make scheduled pick-ups with provision for additional roll-off services on an as-needed basis. Services at the Highland Drive site shall include up to daily removal of trash from five general trash dumpsters, semi-weekly (plastics) and semi-monthly (glass/cans) of two recycling dumpsters, and as-needed pull of one thirty-yard self-contained compactor. Services at the University Drive and Delafield Road sites shall include removal of sanitized medical waste co-mingled with miscellaneous trash and debris. Government-owned San-I-Pak Mark VII Sterilizer/Compactors with Shredders are located at both the University Drive and Delafield Road sites. Each site has two 40 CYD compactor containers to be rotated by the contractor on scheduled hauling days. Contractor is required to store second container between hauls. All services must be accomplished in strict compliance with PADER Municipal Waste Management Regulations. Contractor must provide an executed Form 35 (Request for Approval to Dispose of Processed Infectious or Chemotheraputic Waste) indicating PADER approval of Disposal Facility for acceptance of processed medical waste, or an equivalent approval authority must be provided if disposal facility is outside of PA. Contract period shall be one year from date of award, with anticipated start-up of services on 4/1/99.
