53 -- HOME IMPROVEMENT WAREHOUSE/HOME CENTER SUPPLIES SOL N00102-99-R-1344 DUE 041599 POC SPEDI Coordinator, fax 207-438-1251 The Portsmouth Naval Shipyard (PNS), Portsmouth, NH is seeking a partnering relationship with a "Home Center/Home Improvement Warehouse" type vendor to provide materials via the Small Procurement Electronic Data Interchange (SPEDI) system. Specific categories of materials include, but are not limited to, lumber, plumbing, electrical, hardware, tools, janitorial, building, appliances, landscaping, and HVAC. Essentially, a competitively selected vendor will, in conjunction with PNS partnering efforts, provide their existing product lines via an electronic catalog that resides on a Government database, process orders, verify receipt, and submit and process invoices utilizing the ANSI x12 EDI transaction sets of the SPEDI system. Interested parties must be EDI capable at the time of award. They must also be able to adapt to the SPEDI system (with a viable electronic catalog and bar-coding)within two weeks after date of award. They must be able to provide the majority of their commercial product lines in a next day fashion, subject to the terms and conditions of a negotiated indefinite delivery type contract.
