Lower Michigan Acquisition Center, Detroit, Michigan, is soliciting
offers to provide a polysomnographer to interpret and prepare dictation
for sleep studies for the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) Medical
Center, Battle Creek, Michigan for the period April 1, 1999, through
September 30, 1999. Services are required for approximately 190 studies
during this period.Work under this contract shall be scheduled to
ensure that studies are interpreted, dictated and returned within 5
work days after receipt by the contract polysomnographer. The
contractor shall be responsible for interpretation and preparation of
dictation only. Individuals proposed work under this contract shall be
certified in Polysomnography. The sleep laboratory is equipped with
two Grass model 78E polysomnographs interfaced to an Oxford Medical
Instruments Sleep Analyzing Computer system. Other equipment used
includes, but is not limited to, Ohmeda oximeters and Healthdyne and
Respironics CPAP machines. The sleep laboratory will conduct the
following studies for the VA Medical Center, Battle Creek, Michigan:
(1) CPAP Set-up, (2) Multiple Sleep Latency, (3) Polysomnography with
CPAP, (4) Polysomnography-Sleep Apnea for indications including but not
limited to, Psychiatric Sleep Disorder, OSAS (consisting of
Obstructive, Central, and Mixed Apneas), PLMD, Narcolepsy, Medical
Sleep Disorders REM sleep-related headaches, and Caffeinism; monitor
patients for sleep staging, detecting various sleep disorders, and
periodic leg movements. Requests for the solicitation may be requested

and Allied Services, N.E.C. The small business size standard is 3.5
million average annual receipts for the past three years. This
