COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF FEBRUARY 24,1999 PSA#2289MASTER TRAINERS/TECHNICAL TRAINERS/COORDINATORS -- POTENTIAL SOURCES
SOUGHT The Peace Corps anticipates a need within the next year for
qualified Personal Service Contractors (PSCs) -- (individuals, not
organizations or companies) to serve as Master Trainers/Technical
Trainers/Coordinators in various specialties (Health; Environmental;
Water Sanitation; Agriculture; Small Business Development; Youth at
Risk; Cross-Cultural Training; Community Development; Forestry;
Fisheries; Teacher Training, ESL; TEFL, etc.) for Peace Corps's Posts
in several countries of the former Soviet Union, Eastern Europe;
Africa, Asia and the Pacific regions of the world. Contracts are
contingent upon requests from requiring Peace Corps Posts(s).
Interested individuals should respond to this notice as no further
notice will be placed. Master Trainers/Techical Trainers/Coordinators
work closely with other trainers/coordinators, language coordinators
and language trainers. Under the direction of the Training
Director/Project Director, the Contractor develops training session
designs and activities and coordinates training resources; coordinates
schedules, training sessions and activities, monitors effectiveness of
training/trainee performance, prepares evaluation reports for review by
senior staff. Positions have specific requirements in a detailed
Statement of Work (SOW). Duties may include development of training
design and new training materials, contacting/securing resource
persons, completing a training manual, preparing a budget, etc.
Demonstrated competence in the relevant specialty is mandatory; ability
to communicate clearly, work within existing organization and strict
timelines; B.S./B.A. in a relevant field is required and Master's
Degree is preferred, but not required. Directly related training/design
experience is required, region-specific experience and fluency in
foreign language(s) is a plus. Housing and transportation is provided
for the contractor only, no dependents. Some personal hardship, lack of
modern conveniences should be expected. Contracts are short-term,
generally two to five months. No benefits. Please submit a current
