J -- INVITATION FOR BIDS FOR ELEVATOR REPAIRS AT VARIOUS ST. LOUIS HOUSING AUTHORITY LOCATIONS SOL HM 99-26 DUE 030899 POC Michael Jakubowski, Purchasing Agent, 314/286-4273; Contracting Officer, Beverly Franklin The St. Louis (Missouri) Housing Authority (SLHA) is soliciting bids from qualified contractors to provide Elevator Repairs on forty-eith (48) elevators at various SLHA locations in the City of St. Louis. All products and services sold to the SLHA must be certifiedf as being Year 2000 (Y2K) compliant. The selected Contractor shall provide trained, qualified, experienced, dependable mechanics and helpers who are under a qualified supervisor. Contractor to supply materials, supplies and parts necessary to perform the services in a safe, efficient and satisfactory manner. This contract includes, but is not limited to: the repairs that the SLHA would not be capable of doing; or, the time required to perform the work would be lengthy (i.e., five (5) year safety tests, or annual safety tests including inspection of ropes). The SLHA Assistant Director of Housing Management (Extraordinary Maintenance) is the determining authority of work to be accomplished internally by SLHA personnel or by Contractor personnel. All elevator equipment, materials, installations and inspections shall conform to the codes as listed in ANSI, A 17.1-1971 -- The American National Standard Safety Code for elevators; NSI A 17.2-1960 -- American Standard practice for inspection of elevators. Contractor is to provide the SLHA with one annual inspection with emphasis on ASME A 17.1 Safety Codes. This inspection is to be billed at Contractor's hourly rate. A copy of the annual inspection is to be presented to the SLHA staff. The SLHA will receive sealed bids for this work until 2:00 p.m. (Local Time), Monday, March 8, 1999, only in the SLHA Procurement Section, 4100 Lindell Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63108, at which time and place all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.
