The National Weather Service (NWS) currently operates a satellite based system that collects, processes and distributes hydrometeorological data. The Office of Hydrology (OH) is charged with providing hydrometeorologic data to all NWS operational field offices. HADS receives data from two sources: 1. Remote Data Collection Platforms, 2. Centralized automated Data Acquisition System. Within HADS data is processed, databased, encoded into the Standard Hydrologic Exchange Format and distributed to all NWS River Forecast Centers and Weather Service forecast Offices. The HADS data network currently consists of nearly 8350 reporting locations. The reporting characteristics of the DCP sites are frequently modified in such a manner that requirecorresponding changes in the HADS network definitions. Day-to-day monitoring and maintenance support is required to ensure the operational integrity of HADS. The contractor will be responsible to include the routine monitoring and maintenance of the HADS data network and to provide training to a new NADS network technician. Vendors who believe they can provide the required services are invited to submit in writing, and affirmative responses as to their capabilities and any other pertinent data to the address above, to be received no later than 15 days after the date of this notice.
