The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center,Manhattan seeks proposals from qualified A/E-Window Contractors/ Construction firms to design, furnish and install 2 1/2" aluminium windows and window air-conditioner units in Building # 3 located at the VA Medical Center, 423 East 23rd Street, New York, N.Y. 10010. 2. Scope-of-work includes all necessary professional, architectural, engineering, and interior design services and fabrication/construction including sidewalk bridging for new projected polymide thermal break, 1" sealed insulated glass windows and new window air conditioner units to be installed with total control of dust, dirt, and debris for the occupants of Bldg. # 3 (Staff Quarters)and on the third floor as well as floors above inc luding mechanical space on the roof. 3. Qualified firms must have at least 10 years of verifiable experience in the manufacture of and 5 years in the installation of proposed windows and must provide a 10 year warranty on materials and workmanship. The cost range for this procurement is between $500,000- $1,000,000. Completion time is 60 days (design), 100 days (fabrication), 200 days (installation). 4. Evaluation Factors are as follows; 20% Price, 20% Experience in controlling dust,dirt,debris in occupied areas, 30% Design, 10% design of window air conditioner, 20% Proposed Project Management Plan including detailed phasing, management of installation,measures to avoid disruption,and measures to provide safety. 5.
