17 -- JOINT HELMET MOUNTED CUEING SYSTEM SOL F33657-99-R-2027 POC Fred Kirchner, (937) 255-7963, x 3696/Contracting Officer Dixie Wightman, (937) 255-7963, x 3687 JOINT HELMET MOUNTED CUEING SYSTEM (JHMCS): This CBD announcement constitutes a Notice of Contract Action of a proposed contract for production, manufacture and delivery of a JHMCS systems to meet schedule critical F/A-18 E/F requirements. Small businesses are hereby notified of potential subcontracting opportunities in helmet mounted display and head tracking components. The JHMCS Program Office (ASC/SMH) at HQ Aeronautical systems Center, Wright-Patterson AFB, OH, proposes to award a contract to Boeing, St Louis MO to provide JHMCS support to the Navy F/A-18E/F LRIP3 in the 1QFY99. The effort will require the contractor to manufacture and deliver a JHMCS that meets F/A-18 delivery schedule, system performance and integration requirements including but not necessarily limited to, system specification and acceptance test procedure compliance, Interface Control Document (ICD) compliance, compatibility with the existing F/A-18 Operational Flight Program (OFP) 15C and compatibility with the existing F/A-18 group A aircraft hardware. A firm fixed price type contract is contemplated for this effort. No solicitation will be available at this time. The period of performance is contemplated to be twenty four (24) months. A SECRET Security Clearance will be required during the period of the work. An ombudsman has been established for this acquisition. The only purpose of the Ombudsman is to receive and communicate serious concerns from potential offers during the proposal development phase of the acquisition.
