A -- HPAC ATMOSPHERIC TRANSPORT MODEL SOL DTRA01-99-R-0014 POC Daniel Bertuna, Contract Specialist, ph: 703-325-1197, fax: 703-325-9295; Donald L. Shires, Jr., Contracting Officer, ph: 703-325-6684. The Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) has a requirement to expand the Second-order Closure Integrated PUFF (SCIPUFF) model to meet the warfighters' needs in the area of hazard prediction for Nuclear, Radiological, Biological and Chemical (NRBC) events. SCIPUFF is the atmospheric transport model in the Hazard Prediction and Assessment Capability (HPAC) developed at DTRA. SCIPUFF must provide accurate hazard predictions from the local (<1 km) to regional/global (1,000 km) scale utilizing varied weather observations and prognostic weather models. The code must utilize real environments to provide an accurate best estimate of the hazard in four dimensions and the uncertainty associated with that estimate. These real environments include, but are not limited to, terrain, landcover, urban areas, vegetative canopies, humidity, cloud cover, and precipitation. Additionally, possible deaths/casualties resulting from the hazard along with the uncertainty must be calculated utilizing a global population database for static and dynamic populations. The subject solicitation will be provided on the DTRA Homepage ONLY at www.dswa.mil/dswaproc/cont_act.htm. No hardcopy will be provided. All amendments to the solicitation (including questions and answers) will also appear on the home page. It will be your responsibility to view the home page frequently to note any changes or updates. The solicitation for this effort will be issued on or about 8 March 1999. For information, contact Dan Bertuna, via phone (703) 325-1197; fax (703) 325-9295 or e-mail: daniel.bertuna@dtra.mil Posted 02/19/99 (W-SN300126). (0050)
