The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center, San Diego is seeking sources for a barrier system that will exclude surface and subsurface swimmers/divers access to secured areas. The objective of the barrier is to prevent surface and subsurface swimmers/divers from entering areas containing high value Navy assets. Injury to the intruder is acceptable. Some damage to the barrier is acceptable if the intruder is stopped. The barrier should be able to detect and localize penetration attempts and provide an alarm and a location to the security forces. The barrier can be moored on the bottom or secured to existing pilings. In some applications sections of the barrier should be removable to allow transit of authorized boats. The barrier must survive the typical ocean/river environment of wind, Sea State, biological fouling and corrosion experienced in a port area. This is not a request for an engineering study and submissions should be "off the shelf " items. Interested firms shall submit catalogs, brochures orother technical descriptions of their products.
