Systems Command intends to issue a contract modification to Allied
Signal Avionics Inc. of Redmond, Washington for engineering and
technical support required to incorporate changes to Mark VII Ground
Proximity Warning System (GPWS) for the C-130. This effort includes
changes to GPWS software, upgrade and retrofit of approximately 58
units already in the Navy's inventory. Allied Signal Avionics is the
sole designer, developer and supplier of the Mark VII GPWS, and as
such, is the only source with the technical expertise and required data
to satisfy the government's requirement. This synopsis is published for
