CODE MARKING REQUIRED -- SOURCE INSPECTION. PLEASE PROVIDE THE MATERIAL
SAFETY DATA SHEET FOR EACH ITEM. ITEM 1: 8030-00-008-7198, SEALING AND
COATING COMPOUND, CORROSION INHIBITIVE. Unit of Issue: Kit (KT).
DESCRIPTION: In accordance with Military Specification MIL-PRF-81733D
dated May 15, 1998. QPL QUALIFICATION REQUIRED. NOTE: Third party
inspection certification (NADCAP program) required for this
specification. Type II-1/2: for extrusion application by gun or
spatula, 1/2 hour work life. Class 1: polysulfide rubber base material.
Grade A: contains chromate corrosion inhibitors. Size: a kit consisting
of a minimum of 12 fl oz base and required amount of curing agent in
separate containers packaged in accordance with the supplier's normal
commercial practice. There shall be no interaction chemically or
physically with the contents so as to damage the container or alter the
strength, quality, or purity of the contents. Such packaged ingredients
shall be further packaged or assembled together as a complete unit in
kit form. The filled containers and kit assembly shall be closed in a
manner that will insure the contents will not spill or leak from the
container and that separation of the components will be prevented
during shipment, handling, storage, and redistribution. Shelf life
code: 2 (6 months). Maximum age on delivery: 1 month. ITEM MARKING:
Each item shall be marked with the following: (1) MIL-PRF-81733, type,
class, and grade; (2) manufacturer's name and part number; (3) lot or
batch number; (4) dates of packaging and reinspection for non-premixed
and frozen items; (5) dates of mixing and expiration for premixed and
frozen items; (6) use of button boards and corresponding numbering for
premixed and frozen items. (7) instructions for mixing and use; (8)
instructions for storage. PACKAGING: INTERMEDIATE PACKAGING -- Not more
than 25 units packaged as specified above shall be further packaged in
a close fitting corrugated fiberboard box conforming to Section 6(a),
Rule 41 of the Uniform Freight Classification and Item 222 of the
National Motor Freight Classification. Closure of the boxes shall be in
accordance with Section 7 of Rule 41 of the Uniform Freight
Classification. The units shall be protected within the box by
individually packaging in paperboard boxes or with full height
partitions or other suitable means to ensure that the containers are
not damaged during shipment, handling, storage, and redistribution.
PACKAGING: Intermediate packaged boxes may be further packed in a
close-fitting, corrugated, fiberboard box conforming to Section 6(a),
Rule 41 of the Uniform Freight Classification (UFC) and Item 222 of the
National Motor Freight Classification. Closure of the boxes shall be in
accordance with Section 7 of Rule 41 of the UFC. Gross weight of box
and contents shall not exceed 65 pounds. MARKING: Standard Marking
shall be in accordance with FED-STD-123G, dated June 6, 1997; and shall
include environmental, precautionary and/or hazardous marking required
by law or regulation governing product use, transportation, shipping,
stocking and storage. ITEM 2: 8030-01-290-5137, SEALING COMPOUND. Unit
of Issue -- Kit(KT). Current Requirement -- 3,695. In accordance with
SAE Aerospace Material Specification AMS 3277, Sealing Compound,
Polythioether, Integral Fuel Tanks and General Purpose, Fast Curing,
Intermittent Use to 360F (182C), dated April 1995. QPL qualification
required. NOTE: Third party inspection certification (NADCAP program)
required for this specification. Type I: adhesion promoter required.
Class B-1/2: for application by extrusion gun or spatula, 1/2 hour
application time Size: a minimum of 3.5 fl oz in a 6.0 fl oz
sectionalized, extrusion cartridge conforming to Military Specification
MIL-S-38714B, Sealant Cartridge for Two Component Materials, dated May
15, 1987 and required amount of adhesion promoter in a separate
container of the type normally used for the product. There shall be no
interaction chemically or physically with the contents which would
damage the containers or alter the strength, quality, or purity of the
contents. Each filled cartridge shall be sealed in an appropriate type
bag/envelope. All containers shall be closed in a manner that insures
the contents shall not spill or leak during shipment, handling,
storage, and redistribution. The kit shall be containerized so that the
components are not separated during shipment, handling, storage, and
redistribution. Shelf life code: 3 (9 months). Maximum age on delivery:
1 month. EXCEPTION(S) TO TECHNICAL DOCUMENT: Exceptions to
specification -- 1) p.4, para.2.3. Delete "Mil-C-83286 Coating,
Urethane, Aliphatic Isocyanate, for Aerospace Applications", and
replace with "Mil-C- 85285 Coating: Polyurethane, High Solids". 2) p.
20, Table 7, eighth panel entry. Delete "Mil-C-83286", and replace with
"Mil-C-85285." 3) p. 28, para. 4.5.29. Delete "Mil-C-83286", and
replace with"Mil-C-85285." 4) p. 30, para. 5.2.1. Delete "date of
manufacture", and replace with "date of packaging." ITEM MARKING:
Special marking shall include: (1) marking in accordance with
specification paragraphs 5.2.1 and 5.2.2. (2) instructions for mixing
and use. PACKAGING -- Twenty-four (24) injection cartridges with
primers packaged as described above shall be further packed in a
close-fitting, corrugated fiberboard box conforming to Section 6(a),
Rule 41 of the Uniform Freight Classification and Item 222 of the
National Motor Freight Classification (200 minimum burst). Closure of
the boxes shall be in accordance with Section 7 of Rule 41 of the
Uniform Freight Classification. Gross weight of the box and contents
shall not exceed 65 pounds. MARKING: Standard Marking shall be in
accordance with FED-STD-123G, dated June 6, 1997; and shall include
environmental, precautionary and/or hazardous marking required by law
or regulation governing product use, transportation, shipping, stocking
