Sources sought for small chicken manufacturers to produce 8 piece cut-up chicken for use in commodity supplemental feeding programs. This request is for information only. Proposals are not being requested nor will they be accepted soley on the basis of the resposes hereto, or on follow-up information subsequently sought. Sources are sought for small businesses (500 employees or less) that are also manufacturers of 8 piece cut-up chicken packaged in tray pack style containers. Offers are invited quarterly for frozen, U.S. Grade A, cut-up chicken, 8-piece, with necks and giblets. Each package of cut-up chicken with neck and giblets must weigh 2.50 to 3.75 pounds each, without necks and giblets; or be produced from ready-to-cook broiler/fryer chicken which weigh 2.50 to 3.75 pounds each without necks and giblets. The commodity must be packed 12 packages in each fiberboard shipping container. A purchase unit totals 38,500 pounds. All poultry products pruchased by USDA must be of 100% domestic origin.
