District Corps of Engineers is seeking to identify potential sources
and their capabilities to provide Fish Hatcheries and Imprint Facility
Management and Production at the Corps-Owned Facilities at Lake
Mendocino, CA and Lake Mendocino, CA. The Contractor's responsibility
will include: (1) harvesting the brood stock from the designated rivers
and streams, (2) operating the fish facilities at Lake Sonoma and Lake
Mendocino, (3) producing 1,000,000 Chinook salmon, 300,000 steelhead
trout and 110,000 Coho salmon annually, (4) transporting and delivering
the fish to designated release points, (5) submitting monthly fish
production reports, and (6) maintaining the Government provided
facilities. The Government will provide and the Contractor shall be
responsible for Operating and Maintaining the Hatchery Facilities at
Lake Sonoma and Lake Mendocino which includes but not limited to a
positive fish barrier and attraction device, fish ladder, fishway,
aeration structure, adult fish holdingponds, fish crowder channel,
hatchery building, fish rearing raceways, hatchery wastewater pollution
control pond system, gravity water supply system, fish sorting and
spawning room, incubation and start tank areas, fish food freezer, fish
food thaw room, fish food preparation area, shop, crew locker, garage,
and imprint facilities. The Government has four single family houses
that can be made available to the Contractor under a separate lease
agreement. San Francisco District expects to issue a formal
Solicitation in May 99 with performance commencing 1 October 99. The
Corps anticipates a One Year Contract with 5 One Year Options.
Interested sources are requested to submit a statement demonstrating
their capability to perform the responsibilities listed above.
Responses are limited to three pages and may include a description of
the company and its experience relative to the performance of this or
similar services, and must identify its business size and whether
designated a Small Disadvantaged and/or Women-Owned Business. FAR
19.101 and FAR 19.102 define the Size Standards for Small Business.
Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code 0921 has been determined
to be applicable to this requirement. Responses on company letterhead
